ADST 5P78 - Ethics & Professional Conduct in Research and Practice in the Behavioural Sciences Classroom and practicum hours. Discussion of ethical issues relevant to research and practice in the behavioural sciences considering different ethical codes, standards of practice, and legislation. Practicum focuses on developing skills in assessment, intervention planning, implementation, and monitoring, that are conceptually consistent with ethical and professional practice in behavioural sciences. Culminates in a final case presentation at the ADS ABA Graduating Students’ Conference.
Restrictions: Open to MA Applied Disability Studies students (ABA Specialization only) Prerequisite(s): ADST 5P72 Co-requisite(s): ADST 5P73 and ADST 5P75
Course Note(s): MA students are strongly encouraged to complete this practicum in the ADS clinic. Students who opt out of completing their practicum at the ADS clinic are required to secure their own practicum site in an ABA setting with an approved Field Supervisor holding a BCBA® and/ R.B.A. (Ont.) or qualified faculty member and may complete additional practicum hours within applied research contexts on approval. MADS students may apply to complete their practicum in the ADS clinic on a first-come, first-serve basis. The number of available spots in the ADS clinic may vary by semester.
