HLSC 4P96 - Pathophysiology of Metabolic Syndrome

Metabolic syndrome and related pathologies, such as insulin resistance, obesity, cardiovascular disease and neurodegeneration. Analysis of roles of adipose tissue, liver and skeletal muscle.

Course Format: Seminar, 3 hours per week.
Restrictions: Open to BMED and MSCI majors until date specified in Registration guide. After that date open to BMED, CHHS, CHLH, MSCI, PHTH, BKin and BSc (Kin) majors. Students must have a minimum of 9.0 overall credits.
Prerequisite(s): One of HLSC 2P09 , BIOL 2P97 , KINE 2P09  (PEKN)
Course Notes: This course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery. The method of delivery will be listed on the academic timetable, in the applicable term.
