HLSC 2P09 - Principles of Human Physiology


Molecular, cellular, tissue and organ physiology. Topics include cell structure and function, energy and cellular metabolism, cell transport processes, signal transduction, and nervous, muscle, endocrine, and immune systems.

Course Format: Lectures, lab, seminar, 3 hours per week.
Restrictions: Open to BMED, CHHS, CHLH and MSCI majors until date specified in Registration guide. After that date open to BMED, CHHS, CHLH, CMTY, MSCI and PHTH majors until date specified in Registration guide. Students must have a minimum of 4.0 overall credits.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 1P91  and BIOL 1P92  (1F90)
Course Notes: CHEM 1P91  and CHEM 1P92  (1F92) or one 12U Chemistry credit is also strongly recommended. Provides foundation for students seeking Cardiac Rehabilitation Certification. Materials fee required. This course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery. The method of delivery will be listed on the academic timetable, in the applicable term.
Exclusions: Completion of this course will replace previous assigned grade and credit obtained in KINE 2P09  (PEKN).
