ECON 1P94 - Introductory Mathematics for Economics


Introduction to the application and techniques of mathematics in economics and business. Topics include linear and non-linear functions, systems of equations, limits, differentiation, curvature, optimization, marginal analysis, comparative statics, integration, growth, geometric and power series and an introduction to computer algebra systems using examples from Economics.

Course Format: Lectures, tutorial, 4 hours per week.
Restrictions: Not open to MATH (single or combined) majors.
Course Notes: This course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery. The method of delivery will be listed on the academic timetable, in the applicable term.
Exclusions: Students will not receive earned credit in ECON 1P94  if MATH 1P97  has been successfully completed.
