CHYS 1F90 - Introduction to Child and Youth Studies Theories, methods and issues involved in studying children and youth from a multidisciplinary perspective. Topics may include the history of childhood, family life, peer relations and children and youth with special needs.
Course Format: Lectures, seminar, 3 hours per week. Restrictions: Open to students admitted to CHYS (single or combined), CHYS BA (Honours)/BEd (Primary/Junior), CHHS, CHLH, BA (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior), BA Integrated Studies (Honours)/BEd (Junior/IntermediaA Interactive Arts and Science (Honours)/BEd (Junior/Intermediate), Bte), BPhEd (Honours)/BEd (Junior/Intermediate), BPhEd (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior), BSc (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior), BSc Integrated Studies (Honours)/BEd (Junior/Intermediate); FPAC BA and BA (Honours), and CHYS minors until date specified in Registration guide. In Spring session open to all students. Course Notes: This course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery. The method of delivery will be listed on the academic timetable, in the applicable term. Exclusions: Completion of this course will replace previous assigned grade and credit obtained in CHYS 1F95 .
