The Certificate in Film Production is taught at the Weengushk Film Institute, located on Manitoulin Island in Ontario. It is an eight-month program which provides hands-on training and instruction provided by industry professionals. Students are introduced to the seven core aspects of filmmaking: screenwriting, producing, directing, cinematography, editing, composing and marketing. Students work towards writing and directing a short film, creating a Public Service announcement, developing a story idea for a future project and creating an outline/treatment for a feature film of their conception.
