AHSC 5P55 - Decolonizing Health and Sport Introduces theories and practices of decoloniality to comprehend how structures of power and domination are interconnected in health and sport. Clarifies linkages among colonialism, capitalism, sexism, ableism, racism, and other forms of dehumanization and resistance. Applies decolonial knowledges to pedagogies, praxis, relationships, land, and communities to challenge settler dominance related to bodies and movement practices.
Restrictions: Open to MA/MSc/PhD Applied Health Sciences, MA Health and Physical Education, MSc Kinesiology, and MA Sport Management students.
