HLSC 3Q90 - Geospatial Analytics for Public Health Introduction to application of geospatial analysis and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) in public health. Geographic distribution of diseases and exposures, assessment of healthcare accessibility, health data visualization, and mapping of vulnerable populations, risk factors, health outcomes and the relation between them.
Course Format: Lectures, lab, 3 hours per week. Restrictions: Open to BMED, CHHS, CHLH, CMTY, MSCI and PHTH majors until date specified in Registration Guide. After that date open to BMED, CHHS, CHLH, CMTY, GEOG, MSCI and PHTH majors and Geomatics Minors. Students must have a minimum 9.0 overall credits. Prerequisite(s): One of BIOL 1P96 , GEOG 2P21 , STAT 1F92 (MATH), STAT 1P98 , STAT 1P99 , TOUR 2P21 Course Notes: Students should have familiarity working with spreadsheets and proficiency with the Windows PC environment.This course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery. The method of delivery will be listed on the academic timetable, in the applicable term.
