Program Description
The Master of Athletic Therapy (MAT) program offers a comprehensive academic and clinical education experience to prepare students to become competent athletic therapists and leaders in the athletic therapy profession. The program is provisionally accredited by the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA), and as such, meets the requirements set by the Program Accreditation Committee of CATA. Students will be prepared to work in a hands-on clinical setting to provide emergency care, injury assessment and rehabilitation for patients of various backgrounds who engage in physical activity. The focus of this program has outcomes based in the skills, knowledge, and professional competencies necessary to be a competent Certified Athletic Therapist. Students will be well-equipped to apply the critical thinking and clinical skills they develop at Brock University to their careers, personal lives, and broader roles as engaged citizens.
