Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies (Honours)
This program is designed to provide individuals with the theories, knowledge and skills to design and run educational workshops, programs, campaigns, and interventions to meet the needs of clients’ and employers’ in a wide variety of settings. Business, government, nonprofit agencies, non-governmental agencies (NGOs), and healthcare agencies are all seeking to attract people who understand and can explain the broader context of education and are able to link it to some form of meaningful change. The overall goal of the program is to develop graduates who bring a keen sensibility related to the educational implications of both personal and social change to a wide variety of educational settings through collaborative projects and partnerships within the community.
Students interested in the BA in Educational Studies (Honours) program apply directly from secondary school. University or college transfer applicants with no more than the equivalent of 4.0 university transfer credits may be considered for admission.
Eligibility to continue in the BA in Educational Studies (Honours) is based on a student’s major average and non-major average. A student with a minimum 70 percent major average and a minimum 60 percent non-major average will be permitted to continue. A student with a major average lower than 70 percent will not be permitted to continue in the program.
This program does not lead to an Ontario Teacher Certificate.
