VISA 1P96 - Studio Foundation Basic aesthetic and conceptual processes that underlie visual art production. Two- and three-dimensional formal principles, fundamental critical issues and stylistic/material development. Examples from historic and contemporary art practice provide context for studio projects and readings.
Course Format: Lectures, studio work, 5 hours per week. Restrictions: Open to VISA (single or combined) and VISA (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior) majors until date specified in Registration guide. After that date open to VISA (single or combined), VISA (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior) and IASC (single or combined) majors, and VISA minors, until date specified in the registration guide. Cross-Listing(s): IASC 1P96 Course Notes: Materials fee required. Students may need additional materials, which they must supply. Field trips may be required. Students are expected to pay their own expenses. Production and Design Concentration students may register. Contact the Department. Due to space limitations, audits are not permitted in studio classes.This course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery. The method of delivery will be listed on the academic timetable, in the applicable term.
