*MARS 3F52 - Social History of Renaissance Florence Intensive study of the Italian Renaissance in Florence, Italy. Social, political and cultural developments of the period, with an emphasis on daily life in the city and its surrounding countryside. Visits to significant cultural sites and guided tours of the city. Two day-trips to other cities: Siena and Bologna.
Course Format: First 2 weeks of course spent in class, followed by ten days of intensive study abroad Restrictions: Application required and permission of instructor. Prerequisite(s): One MARS or HIST credit or permission of the instructor. Cross-Listing(s): HIST 3F52 , ITAL 3F52 Course Notes: Begins in May on Brock campus during the Spring session. Departure for Florence in mid-May for ten days of study travel. Significant walking on sometimes uneven terrain is required. Students are responsible for travel, accommodation, and other expenses.
