HIST 1P96 - Domination and Defiance: Modern Global History


Major political, social, economic, and cultural trends in modern global history. Topics include imperialism, decolonization and neocolonialism, world wars and genocide, totalitarian ideologies, the Cold War, creation of welfare states, economic globalization, struggle for individual and group rights, youth culture, and international solutions to global challenges.

Course Format: Lectures, seminar, 3 hours per week
